Arboretum w Kopnej Górze

Arboretum w Kopnej Górze is a collection of trees and shrubs that thrive in this harsh climate zone of the Podlasie region. The grounds showcase various species selected specifically for the tough local conditions.

It was founded in 1988 and received official botanical garden status in 2023. This transformation marks an important recognition of its significance for nature conservation and education.

It is named after participants in the 1863 Uprising and sits along a trail dedicated to regional history in northeastern Poland. Visitors sense the local connection to the past as they walk through the grounds.

The grounds are open to visitors from April to September during daylight hours and have no entrance fee. The best conditions for exploring are found in the warmer months when everything is green and flowering.

A large pond on the grounds hosts water lilies that bloom in June and create a special natural display. The area is surrounded by meadows where frogs produce their distinctive calls.
