Państwowe Liceum Sztuk Plastycznych im. Artura Grottgera w Supraślu

The Artur Grottger State Art School is housed in a restored palace building with specialized workshops for artistic work and sports facilities. The structure includes dedicated art studios, a gymnasium located in a former stable building, and a library containing educational resources.

The art school was established in November 1944 when artist Stanisław Stolarczyk founded the Co-educational Secondary School of Painting and Artistic Crafts. The building that houses it today, the Buchholtz Palace, was constructed between 1892 and 1903.

The school bears the name of artist Artur Grottger, a significant painter connected to this region. Visitors can observe students working across four specializations: artistic textiles, sculpture, artistic printing, and intermedia art.

The school is easily accessible on foot in central Supraśl with parking available near the grounds. Since the building primarily serves educational purposes, it is advisable to inquire ahead about visiting opportunities or special events.

The building was originally designed as a private palace for a wealthy family and retained many of its decorative features when converted to school use. The ornate interior spaces and architectural details still reflect the grandeur of its original purpose.
