Wierchomla Hostel, Mountain hut in Beskid Sądecki, Poland.
Wierchomla Hostel is a wooden lodge sitting at 887 meters (2,910 feet) on a clearing in the Jaworzyna Krynicka area, with views of the Radziejowa range and Tatra Mountains. The building holds 40 beds in multiple rooms, a cafe serving regional food, a sauna, drying areas, and additional lodging in a Finnish house and yurt.
The hostel was founded in 1978, created from a granary relocated from Złockie village. It became part of the Polish Tourist and Sightseeing Society's network of mountain lodgings.
The area preserves signs of Lemko heritage through nearby wooden churches, old cemeteries, and roadside crosses that mark former pastoral settlements. Visitors can see these reminders of rural life by exploring the surrounding landscape.
The lodge sits on a large open clearing, making it easy to find and offering clear views in all directions. It is reachable by hiking trails, especially from the Barani Trail, and visitors should expect mountain terrain and changing weather conditions.
The hostel sits on the Barani Trail and serves traditional pastoral dishes such as house tea, kugel with lamb stew, and kwaśnica made with mountain lamb. These foods keep alive old recipes passed down for generations in the mountain community.
