Saint George church in Bytów

Saint George Church is a Greek Catholic church in Bytów featuring Baroque architecture from the 17th century. The interior contains an ornate iconostasis and a decorative tabernacle that blend Eastern and Western artistic traditions.

The church was built between 1675 and 1685 by evangelical communities and later converted to serve Greek Catholic and Ukrainian congregations. A 17th-century tabernacle was transferred here from a church in the Podkarpackie region.

The church displays Byzantine Orthodox traditions in its decoration and interior layout, bringing together Eastern and Western religious practices. You can observe how different faith communities have left their mark on the space.
