Bukowina Obidowska

Bukowina Obidowska is a summit in the Gorce range reaching about 1,040 meters (3,400 feet), with steep slopes dropping into the Lepietnica valley and the Czarnego Dunajca valley below. Dense forests blanket the mountain.

A wooden measurement tower once stood at the peak, marking this as a scientific observation point. Beneath the tower's stone foundation, researchers discovered an ancient boundary marker that reflects earlier use of the site.

The name comes from the Polish word 'buk' meaning beech, reflecting the deciduous forests that cover this and surrounding areas. Visitors can see this forest type while walking through the slopes.

Several marked hiking trails pass through the area, offering different routes for various skill levels. Visitors should plan adequate time and wear sturdy footwear, as the slopes are steep.

The slopes host rare plant species found in only a handful of locations across Poland. This botanical feature makes the mountain notable for nature enthusiasts.
