Obidowiec, Mountain summit in Gorce Mountains, Poland
Obidowiec is a summit in the Gorce Mountains rising to 1106 meters in elevation. It sits positioned between Stare Wierchy and Turbacz peaks, surrounded by thick spruce forests that slope downward into surrounding valleys.
The Gorce Mountains received protected status in 1981 when Gorce National Park was established. This conservation measure helped safeguard the natural forests and habitats surrounding this peak.
Traditional pastoral farming methods shaped the mountain clearings near Obidowiec, where wooden shepherd huts demonstrate regional architectural characteristics of the Polish highlands.
The hike starts from Parzygnatówka parking area and follows well-marked trails through the mountains. Green and red trail markers guide visitors clearly toward the summit along established routes.
On clear days the summit offers views reaching toward the distant Tatra Mountains. This sight is remarkable because it connects two separate mountain ranges in a single vista.
