Maciejowa, Mountain peak in Gorce Mountains, Poland
Maciejowa is a mountain peak in the Gorce Mountains of Poland, rising 836 meters above sea level. The summit terrain is broken by forest, with paths that cross meadows and reach viewpoints overlooking the surrounding mountain ridges.
This slope became recognized as a walking destination in the early 1900s and developed into a stopping point for climbers from the region. A shelter was added later to provide refuge for hikers passing through.
The name Maciejowa reflects local naming traditions of the Gorce region. Visitors find a simple mountain shelter that serves the hiking community and embodies the practical spirit of mountain travel in this area.
The climb follows a green marked trail starting from the village of Jasionów with moderate physical demands. Parking is available at the trailhead and a small shelter at the summit offers basic supplies.
The shelter is known among hikers for serving hot chocolate with whipped cream, a simple treat after the climb. From the terrace, the peaks of Luboń Wielki and Beskid Żywiecki are clearly visible across the valley.
