Established on July 23, 1958, the area was previously known as Marie's Park in the 19th century, connected to the Alvensleben family estate.

Visitors can explore the reserve through a 48-kilometer marked trail system that connects various protected areas in the Chełmno region.
The mineral spring water sourced from this location received international recognition at exhibitions between 1894 and 1927.
