Lipowska Hostel, Mountain hut in Beskid Żywiecki, Poland.
Lipowska Hostel is a mountain shelter in the Beskids situated at 1324 meters (4347 feet) elevation and offers accommodation in rooms ranging from two to ten beds. The property includes a campsite, bonfire area, children's playground, and a Finnish sauna for guests.
The hostel was founded in 1969 and has remained under the same family management since its opening. Maria Gowin became the longest-serving host among all mountain shelters in the country, leaving her mark on the place for decades.
The dining room serves traditional mountain dishes from the region, including handmade dumplings and pancakes prepared using cooking methods passed down through generations. Guests experience local culinary customs while eating here.
Transportation can be arranged from nearby Złatna-Huta village for guests arriving without personal vehicles. The location works best as a base for hiking, with trails starting directly from the property.
The shelter intentionally lacks modern conveniences like WiFi and private bathrooms. This approach has paradoxically helped it remain a popular choice among hikers seeking an authentic mountain experience.
