Żabia Czuba, Mountain summit in High Tatras, Poland
Froschkopf is a mountain summit in the High Tatras standing at 2080 meters. The dome-shaped peak divides the Rybny Potok Valley from the Biała Woda Valley and marks the border between Poland and Slovakia.
The mountain received its current name in 1935 when climbers needed to distinguish it from other peaks. Previously it was simply called Czuba.
The mountain carries four different names across languages: Żabia Czuba in Polish, Žabia kopa in Slovak, Froschkopf in German, and Szélső-Békás-csúcs in Hungarian. This linguistic variety reflects the region's multicultural heritage.
Several hiking trails lead to the summit, with the most accessible route starting from the pass below at 2031 meters elevation. Trails are well marked, and visitors should prepare for variable weather conditions at altitude.
The summit forms part of the Żabia Ridge extending from the Lower Żabi Peak and serves as a natural border line between the two countries. This geographic feature makes it a notable point for those hiking along the border.
