Loitz house, Gothic tenement building in Old Town, Szczecin, Poland.

The Loitz House is a Gothic residence in Szczecin's Old Town, built in 1547 with a richly decorated facade displaying characteristic Gothic details. The building stands on Kurkowa Street and now houses an art school.

The house was built in 1547 at the request of Hans Loitz, an influential Szczecin mayor. Following damage in World War II, the building was restored in 1955 while preserving its Gothic structures.

The building once housed a wealthy mayor and shows how the richest citizens of the city lived. Today it serves as an art school, and you can see how historical rooms have been adapted for new purposes.

The building is registered as a protected monument and sits centrally in the Old Town, making it easily accessible on foot. The art school uses the spaces actively, so interior visibility may vary depending on school activities.

The house still displays masonry and details from the 16th century that have survived the many renovations. These original Gothic techniques are particularly visible in the facade structure and vaulting methods.
