Mary Magdalene and Saint Nicholas church in Chełmce

Mary Magdalene and Saint Nicholas church is a stone building with a rectangular nave and a three-storey tower at its western end, topped by a decorative cupola. The structure sits on elevated ground overlooking the surrounding meadows and fields.

A fire destroyed the previous structure in 1620, leading to the construction of the current building during the 17th century. This rebuilding in the Świętokrzyskie region marked the start of this important parish church.

The interior displays Baroque paintings that show Mary Magdalene and Saint Nicholas, the two patrons whom the local community honors. These images reflect the religious devotion that shaped this place.

The church sits on elevated ground, so reaching it from nearby areas requires climbing uphill. Comfortable footwear is recommended since the approach involves walking up a slope to reach the entrance.

The parish maintains historical ties to the palace at Oblęgorek, which was the former home of Nobel Prize winner Henryk Sienkiewicz. This connection reveals how the region held cultural importance across different periods.
