Nature reserve Barania Góra, Nature reserve in Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship, Poland.
Barania Góra is a protected nature reserve covering 81.6 hectares on the southern slopes of the Świętokrzyskie region. The area contains subcontinental oak-hornbeam forests and acidic mountain beech forests with mature tree specimens throughout.
The reserve gained official protection status in 1994 to preserve the forest communities of this mountain area. This designation has safeguarded the woodlands and their ecological value since then.
The Edmund Massalski trail runs along the ridge and connects multiple viewpoints within the Suchedniowsko-Oblęgorski Landscape Park. Visitors follow this marked route to experience the different forest types and the natural setting of this protected mountain area.
Several marked hiking trails cross through the reserve, including a black-marked path from Oblęgorek to the summit. A map or trail guide is helpful for navigating the clearly marked routes effectively.
The reserve protects several rare plant species such as sharp-fruited moorgrass and laurelleaf willowherb in their natural setting. These plants are difficult to find in other parts of Europe.
