Perzowa, Mountain summit in Holy Cross Mountains, Poland
Perzowa is a mountain summit in the Holy Cross Mountains with exposed limestone layers visible along its slopes. The peak stands at 504 meters and forms part of this distinctive range in the region.
Geological investigations in the 1950s identified rock layers from the Devonian period at the summit. These ancient marine deposits reveal information about the area's past as a prehistoric ocean.
Local mountaineering groups organize regular hiking expeditions to Perzowa summit throughout spring and autumn seasons to study regional geology.
The summit is accessible via marked trails starting from the nearby town of Chęciny. The walk up takes roughly two hours and the route is suitable for hikers of different abilities.
The rock formations display traces of marine sediments from the Devonian period approximately 400 million years ago. These layers allow visitors to witness evidence of when this mountain area once lay beneath an ancient sea.
