Muzeum Techniki w Szczecinie, Technology museum in Szczecin, Poland
The Technology Museum is housed in a former tram depot and displays a collection of vehicles, motorcycles, and technical equipment across several exhibition halls. The exhibits span cars, two-wheelers, and various machines from different eras and countries.
The museum was founded in 2006 and preserves the legacy of the Stoewer family, who manufactured automobiles, typewriters, and sewing machines in Szczecin. This production was an important part of the city's industrial history during the 19th and 20th centuries.
The museum displays vehicles from Poland's socialist era, including popular models like the Syrena and Fiat 125p that remain part of the city's collective memory. These exhibits tell the story of everyday mobility that shaped generations of residents.
The museum is open Tuesday through Sunday, with extended hours until 18:00 on Fridays and Saturdays, and closed on Mondays. It is advisable to allow enough time to explore the different exhibition halls at a leisurely pace.
Visitors can operate a Konstal 105Na tram simulator and experience a 3D recreation of Szczecin's streets from the driver's perspective. This interactive experience offers a hands-on way to see the city through a tram operator's viewpoint.
