Ogród Doświadczeń w Krakowie, Interactive science park in Krakow, Poland.
The Ogród Doświadczeń (Garden of Experiences) is an outdoor science park with more than 60 interactive installations that show how physical forces and natural laws work. The space is divided into zones focusing on optics, acoustics, hydrostatics, and mechanics, allowing visitors to engage directly with each concept through hands-on setups.
The park opened in 2007 as part of a city renewal initiative in Krakow called New Huta - New Chance. Its design drew inspiration from comparable science gardens that already existed in Nuremberg and Paris.
The garden is named after Polish science fiction writer Stanislaw Lem and merges learning with leisure in a public outdoor space. A maze incorporates his philosophical quotes throughout, creating a reflective experience for those who walk it.
The park works best on sunny or clear days since all installations are outdoors and work through direct physical interaction. Guided tours are available if you want structured explanations of how each exhibit functions.
A large prism filled with glycerin creates rainbows when sunlight passes through it, while a spinning disc demonstrates how colors blend into white at high speed. These two installations stand out as some of the most memorable ways the park shows how light behaves.
