Wiśniowy Sad Park in Kraków, Public park in Nowa Huta district, Kraków, Poland.
Wiśniowy Sad Park is a green space in Nowa Huta situated between the Kolorowe and Spółdzielcze neighborhoods. It contains multiple playgrounds, outdoor exercise equipment, and one of the district's largest sandpits for visitors to use.
The park was created in the early 1960s as Nowa Huta's sector D was under construction. Its design reflected a transition from socialist realism toward modernist approaches to landscape planning.
Two sculptural works stand in the park: a mermaid created by Magdalena Pruszyńska-Jaroszyńska and an abstract snail-shaped piece. Visitors encounter these artworks as natural focal points while walking through the space.
The park features accessible pathways for people with mobility challenges and all facilities are free to use without advance registration. Visitors can come at their own pace and enjoy the various spaces designed for different activities.
The park contains about 23 tree species and 16 varieties of shrubs, including Pennsylvania ash, small-leaved lime, and Norway maple. This diversity creates varied light conditions and vegetation zones that make the space feel rich and textured throughout the year.
