Kino Świt

Kino Świt is a former cinema in Nowa Huta with classical architectural elements including two-story pillars and decorative roof details at Teatralne 10 street. The building now contains retail units and offices that are accessible to the public.

The cinema opened on April 24, 1953 with 'Three Stories', a collection of propaganda short films. Operations ended in 2002 when the main auditorium was converted into retail and office spaces.

The interior was designed to reflect mid-20th century Polish cinema standards, and you can still sense how these spaces were meant to welcome audiences of that era.

The building is publicly accessible today since it functions as retail and office spaces. Visitors can view the classical facade and certain interior areas, though keep in mind these are working commercial spaces.

The auditorium had an unusual reverse rake design in the front section, creating different viewing angles for viewers. This architectural feature was uncommon at the time and remains a distinctive aspect of the space even though it no longer functions as a cinema.
