Park im. Miasta Roth w Raciborzu, Urban park in Racibórz, Poland.
Roth-Park is an urban park in Racibórz spanning over 5 hectares with a large pond featuring a small island and multiple fountains scattered throughout. The grounds contain a concert shell for performances and include a playground, as well as a viewing terrace accessible from Bema Street.
The city purchased this land in 1914 from the Zenders family and commissioned architect Sussmann from Jelenia Góra to design the park layout in 1920. A World War I monument once stood in the northeastern section, though today only the bench surrounding its former location remains.
The park carries the name of a local businessman and serves as a gathering place where residents come to walk or rest beneath the mature trees. Different sections of the grounds naturally encourage various activities depending on what visitors seek.
The best time to explore the park is in the afternoon when sunlight illuminates the pond and open spaces nicely with fewer crowds about. The paths are accessible to all visitors depending on ground conditions, and the viewing terrace offers a good vantage point without needing to walk far from the main entrance.
Four natural monuments set this park apart botanically: a bald cypress, common hornbeam, American ash, and ivy climbing the tree trunks. These specimens represent plant life that has thrived here for generations.
