Stefan Żeromski Park in Szczecin, Urban park in Old Town district, Szczecin, Poland.
Stefan Żeromski Park is a green space covering about 22 hectares and featuring around 177 different tree and shrub species, including Chinese poplars, weeping willows, and Japanese tulip trees. Walking paths connect different areas, with a children's playground and seasonal restrooms available throughout.
This park developed on the grounds of the former Grabowo Cemetery, established in 1910 following a 1802 decree that prohibited burials within city walls. The transformation of the cemetery into public green space changed how the area was used.
The park displays sculptures by local artists, including a Stefan Żeromski monument from 1978 and works titled Prometheus and Motherhood. You can find these artworks scattered throughout the green space as you walk.
The park is located near the Szczecin Philharmonic and National Museum, making it a convenient stop while exploring the area. The pathways are easy to walk and accessible from the Old Town district.
Three metal crosses scattered in the park mark the location of an 18th-century French Reformed Christian cemetery. These quiet markers remind visitors of a religious minority community that once lived in the area.
