Town hall in Kamienna Góra, Rathaus in Polen
The town hall in Kamienna Góra is an administrative building in Renaissance Revival style built between 1904 and 1905. The structure consists of three main sections joined together with a tall tower at the center and features decorations on the facades with carved details and decorative frames around the windows.
An earlier town hall stood from 1564 at the site of the current building but was eventually demolished as the city grew. After decades in temporary buildings, the town decided to construct a new administrative seat in 1904 that remains standing today.
The town hall carries the town's name and is viewed by residents as the heart of their community. The wall paintings and sculptures tell stories of local events and important figures from Kamienna Góra, emphasizing the daily meaning of this place.
The town hall sits in the center of town and is easily reached on foot. Tours of the interior require advance reservation by phone since access to the historic rooms is limited.
The tower houses a clock made at the Eppner factory in Srebrna Góra that has marked the rhythm of city life since its installation. During 2012 renovations, workers discovered paintings hidden inside the walls showing scenes from the town's history.
