Las Łabędzki, Urban forest in northeastern Gliwice, Poland.
Las Łabędzki is an urban forest in northeastern Gliwice covering more than 600 hectares of natural landscape. The terrain features a network of marked paths winding through thick vegetation and diverse wildlife habitats.
The forest appeared on maps as early as 1736 and was part of Old Gliwice during the 17th century. During the interwar period, it came under the ownership of Johannes von Welczek.
The forest serves as a gathering place for outdoor activities where local residents regularly walk, run, and cycle through its paths. These daily routines show how the woodland has become woven into the everyday life of people in the area.
The forest features several marked trails suited to different outdoor activities and fitness levels throughout the grounds. Dedicated areas for walking, jogging, and cycling are distributed across the terrain.
Scattered throughout the forest are Scandinavian erratic boulders, including metamorphosed granite that was transported from Uppsala and Vånevik during ancient glacial movements. These large stones reveal how ice age geology shaped the landscape.
