Variété Theatre occupies the former Związkowiec cinema-theatre building at 71 Grzegórzecka Street in the Grzegórzki district. Its auditorium seats 364, with a two-level foyer, a stage fitted with sound and lighting systems, a movable platform and a trapdoor.

The building was constructed in 1938 as the Związkowiec cinema-theatre and is listed as a historic monument. On 30 April 2014 the Kraków City Council established the Variété Theatre as a municipal cultural institution, and it opened on 31 May 2015 with the musical Legally Blonde directed by Janusz Józefowicz.

The venue regularly features Polish-language musicals and cabaret shows that speak to local audiences and reflect the city's artistic traditions. Visitors experience a mix of classic and contemporary productions assembled specifically for Kraków's tastes.
