Palace of the Dukes of Cadaval, Medieval palace and museum in Évora, Portugal
The Palace of the Dukes of Cadaval stands opposite the Roman Temple of Évora, featuring a pentagonal tower and two interior gardens.
The palace grounds include remains of a Moorish castle that burned in 1384, with subsequent architectural modifications during the 17th century.
The first floor displays a collection of manuscripts, family portraits, and religious art pieces dating from the 16th century onwards.
Visitors can explore multiple sections of this noble residence, including the Church of Saint John the Evangelist with its Gothic portico.
The church houses numerous tombs of the Cadaval family since the 15th century and contains azulejo panels depicting Saint Lawrence Giustiniani.
