Santa Marta Lighthouse, Maritime navigational beacon in Cascais, Portugal.
The Santa Marta Lighthouse features a quadrangular masonry tower with white tiles and blue horizontal stripes, standing 8 meters tall near Cascais Bay.
Originally built in 1868 on a 17th-century military fort site, the lighthouse underwent modernization in 1953 with electrical systems and automation in 1981.
The lighthouse museum presents exhibitions about Portuguese maritime navigation, including collections of optical devices and documentation of lighthouse keeper traditions.
Located at Praceta Farol Cascais 2750-341, the museum opens daily with guided tours and includes a café on the terrace overlooking the sea.
A fifth-order catadioptric system from 1908 remains preserved in the lighthouse, while the museum displays a significant Hyperradiant Fresnel lens from Berlenga Lighthouse.
