Al Fardan Residences, Residential skyscraper in West Bay, Doha, Qatar.
Al Fardan Residences is a residential tower with 64 above-ground floors and 2 basement levels that rises over 253 meters and is built from aluminum and concrete. The structure contains ten elevators and provides spacious living areas with floor heights of roughly 4 meters each.
Construction of the residential tower started in 2006 and reached completion in 2009, with workers requiring about three to four days per floor. This timeline made it one of the tallest residential complexes built in Doha during that period.
The tower represents Qatar's rapid transformation into a modern city through its postmodern design that fits into West Bay's contemporary skyline. Its presence marks the evolution of Doha from a traditional settlement into a global financial hub.
Visitors can view the building from outside and appreciate its architecture from different angles around the West Bay area. The location offers good visibility from the waterfront and nearby public spaces.
During construction, 94 automatic SKE 50 climbing formwork units were used, an innovative technique that sped up the building process. This method represented a significant technological advancement in skyscraper construction at that time.
