Comarnic cave

Comarnic Cave is a show cave in the Banat Mountains featuring an extensive limestone labyrinth beneath the surface. The system includes multiple levels with galleries lined by mineral formations, creating passages that interconnect several chambers of varying sizes.

The cave was discovered in 1856 and later protected when its geological significance became recognized. It now falls within Semenic National Park and is managed as a protected natural area.

The name comes from the nearby Comarnic River, which has shaped the surrounding area for centuries. Visitors can sense this connection when exploring how the cave system aligns with the river valley below.
