Colț Fortress, Medieval fortress in Suseni, Romania.

The stone fortress stands on elevated terrain in Hunedoara County, featuring thick defensive walls and a central tower designed for strategic observation.

Built in 1359 by the Cândea family, the fortress served as a defensive structure against regional invasions and later transformed into a noble residence.

Jules Verne incorporated this fortress into his novel 'Castle of the Carpathians', drawing attention to its position in the Transylvanian landscape.

The fortress requires a 30-minute walk on marked paths through the hills, with guided tours available for detailed information about its architecture.

The defense tower contained special provisions to sustain only two or three people during emergencies, reflecting its specific military design.
