Sighet prison

Sighet prison is a former detention facility in Sighetu Marmației that now functions as a memorial museum displaying exhibits about political prisoners. The building preserves original cells and rooms where different exhibitions are arranged across multiple levels.

Many prisoners secretly wrote texts on paper at night, which they hid to preserve their memories. Some of these handwritten notes can still be seen today and tell of life inside the cells.
