Holy Trinity Church, Eastern Orthodox church building in Sighișoara, Romania.
Holy Trinity Church stands on the northern bank of the Târnava Mare River and follows Neo-Byzantine architectural principles in its design. The brick building houses an underground chapel for funeral services and contains three bells of varying sizes.
Construction began in 1934 in Elizabeth Park and the building was consecrated in 1937 with 40 priests and approximately 10,000 attendees at the ceremony. This event marked the official opening of an important religious center for the Orthodox community.
The interior features tempera paintings by Anastase Demian, while local craftsmen from Rupea created the iconostasis. These artistic elements shape the visual character of the building and reflect local craftsmanship traditions.
The building is easily accessible and offers different areas for visitors to explore, including the main worship space and less obvious underground sections. Visit during regular hours to experience all sections of the building.
The Vox Animi choir performs traditional Orthodox musical pieces during services, contributing a distinctive sound to the spiritual experience. This musical group has become an integral part of the place's religious life.
