Grădina Icoanei, Urban park and historic monument in central Bucharest, Romania.
The 2.4-hectare park contains winding paths, green spaces, trees, fountains, and sculptures within its carefully designed landscape layout.
The area transformed from Icoana Pond and wooded grove into a public garden between 1870 and 1873, following plans by architect Karl Kuchnovsky.
A bronze statue of George C. Cantacuzino-Rafoveanu by sculptor Ernest Henri Dubois stands at the park entrance since 1904.
The park underwent renovation in 2021-2022 with new limestone paths, restored fountains, and improved facilities for 1,100 daily weekend visitors.
The Bucureștioara brook once flowed from a 20-hectare pond that occupied this location before urban development changed the landscape.
