Oțetari Church, Romanian Orthodox church in central Bucharest, Romania.
Oțetari Church is an Orthodox building made of brick with two spires topped by bulb-shaped domes and an octagonal tower at its center. Its white walls are decorated with 39 mosaic medallions showing religious scenes.
The building replaced a wooden church from 1681 and was built in stone in 1757. A major restoration between 1860 and 1866 gave it the decorative features seen today.
The name comes from the vinegar makers who once worked in this neighborhood. Inside, religious paintings reflect the spiritual life of the Orthodox community and show what faith means to those who gather here for worship.
The church sits in a central residential neighborhood and welcomes visitors during the week when regular Orthodox services take place. Keep in mind that the space is actively used for worship and respectful behavior is expected.
Inside are tombs of the Hagi Tudorache family, who supported the church generously during its restoration. This local family remains connected to the building through their final resting place in its interior.
