The structure was completed in 1960 as part of a larger architectural ensemble that includes nine residential buildings near the National Museum of Art.
The venue stages numerous classical concerts, musicals, ballets, and performances by international artists during the George Enescu Festival.
Eight conference rooms accommodate meetings of 20 to 100 participants, while the main hall hosts large-scale events throughout the year.
The building forms part of Piața Sălii Palatului, replacing former royal gardens during an extensive urban transformation project in the late 1950s.
