Cheile Întregalde

Cheile Întregalde is a gorge in the Carpathian Mountains that cuts through limestone cliffs, creating a narrow passage between towering rock walls. The formation provides a striking landscape for hikers exploring the area on foot.

The gorge was carved by flowing water through limestone over millions of years, gradually deepening to create its current form. This natural erosion process produced one of the region's most striking geological features.

The reserve forms part of the broader Trascău site, which preserves traditional mountain activities and natural heritage in western Transylvania.

The best access is through hiking trails that begin from nearby villages and lead to the rocky passages. Sturdy footwear and caution on narrow paths are important, especially during wet weather.

Rare alpine plants grow on the rock faces at heights where they would not normally survive, creating an unusual ecosystem. This unexpected plant life shows how the steep conditions bring certain species to this location.
