Muzeul de artă populară „Nicolae Popa” din Târpești

The Nicolae Popa Folk Art Museum displays over 3,000 exhibits including wood sculptures, traditional masks, folk costumes, and archaeological artifacts from the region.

The museum opened in 1965 as a response to rapid rural modernization, starting in a village teacher's service building before expanding to its current location.

The museum exhibits local ethnographic collections, including traditional masks sewn by Elena Popa and naive sculptures created by Nicolae Popa throughout his career.

Located at 305 Neculai Popa Street in Târpești, the museum operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 to 20:00, with guided tours provided by Popa family members.

The entrance gate features three symbolic pillars carved by Nicolae Popa himself, representing the family unit through intricate traditional motifs and patterns.
