Zlatar Lake, reservoir
Zlatar Lake is a reservoir in Serbia created by damming a river to hold back water. The body of water sprawls across a mountainous area with several coves and shorelines bordered by forests and rolling hills.
The lake was created in the second half of the 20th century when a dam was built to hold back river waters. The project was part of regional infrastructure and power generation development in Serbia.
The lake sits in a mountainous area and requires some travel time from larger towns. The best time to visit is during warmer months when weather is stable and access to different parts of the shoreline is easier.
