Gostilje waterfall

Gostilje waterfall is a natural cascade in the Zlatibor region where a river drops steeply over a limestone cliff. The water continues flowing downward through a series of smaller cascades before joining another river system.

The waterfall sits in an area with deep local roots, and a nearby memorial room honors an important regional figure from the past. The village and surrounding landscape have developed over many generations, shaping the region's identity today.

The Gostilje area maintains traditional Serbian customs through local food production, including seasonal fruits, vegetables, and homemade plum brandy.

Visiting requires some planning since the location sits off main roads and access involves traveling on country paths. Wearing comfortable shoes is wise, and extra care is needed during wet weather when the paths can become slippery.

The water from the main cascade continues its journey by creating an entire system of smaller waterfalls downstream through the valley. This hidden cascade series often goes unnoticed compared to the main drop itself.
