Tašmajdan Sports Centre is a large sports facility in Belgrade with multiple buildings and open areas. It includes an outdoor stadium, several sports halls, indoor swimming pools, and fitness areas spread across one connected site.
The center began in the 1950s, with the stadium built in 1952 using white stone from Brač island. The complex then grew step by step and took its current form around 1958.
The venue hosts national swimming competitions and basketball tournaments that draw athletes from across the Balkans. Many visitors come for the established ice skating hall and the respected training facilities.
The facility is open year-round and offers different sports options, from swimming to training. The site is large and connected, so take time to explore or focus on specific areas.
The grounds sit above an ancient quarry with caves millions of years old, showing traces from Roman and Turkish times. These underground structures are a quiet part of the site's long history.
