Metropol Palace Hotel Belgrade

The Metropol Palace Hotel is a 10-story building at the intersection of Bulevar kralja Aleksandra and Karnegijeva street with 108 rooms and 128 suites. The property includes a three-level underground parking garage, multiple dining establishments, and conference facilities that accommodate up to 1,000 guests.

Designed by architect Dragiša Brašovan, the building opened in 1957 and was declared a cultural monument in 2001 for its architectural significance. Following a fire that destroyed the upper floors in 2002, the structure underwent complete reconstruction and reopened in 2012 with preserved architectural elements.

The lobby features a large wall painting made of colored wood pieces that was commissioned specifically for the space. This artwork shapes the first impression visitors receive and reflects the attention to craftsmanship that defines the building.

The hotel sits at a convenient intersection for easy access and city navigation from multiple directions. Visitors should note that the underground parking garage can fill quickly during peak periods.

The building experienced a remarkable recovery after a devastating fire destroyed most of the upper floors in 2002. The restoration demonstrated how important the post-war architectural character remains to the city.
