Nature Park "Šargan– Mokra Gora"

Nature Park Šargan-Mokra Gora is a protected forested area in western Serbia covering more than 10,000 hectares with dense woodlands, numerous waterfalls, and mountain ranges. The park encompasses parts of Tara Mountain and northwestern sections of Zlatibor, creating a landscape of steep terrain and water features.

The Šargan Pass within the park has served as a vital connection between southeastern and western Europe throughout various historical periods. This ancient route shaped regional development and remains a defining feature of the landscape today.

The ethno-village of Drvengrad on Mećavnik Hill showcases traditional wooden architecture and serves as a gathering place during the annual Kustendorf Film and Music Festival. Visitors experience how this settlement has become a living gallery where folk building traditions remain part of the working landscape.

The park offers multiple hiking trails to natural attractions including Skakavac Waterfall, Dugančica Waterfalls, and the Zborište summit. Trails vary in difficulty and length, so visitors should wear proper footwear and allow ample time for their chosen route.

The narrow-gauge Šargan Eight railway winds over 24 kilometers through tunnels and bridges spanning the park's terrain. This heritage line operates as a moving museum where visitors can ride in historical train cars and experience early rail engineering firsthand.
