Tresije Monastery, Orthodox monastery on Kosmaj Mountain, Sopot, Serbia
Tresije Monastery sits on the northwestern slope of Kosmaj Mountain, surrounded by dense forests on three sides at an elevation of 544 meters. The complex combines Orthodox architecture with modern construction in the Serbo-Byzantine style.
The monastery's bells originate from the 13th century under King Dragutin, while Despot Stefan Lazarevic rebuilt the structure in the 14th century. Following two centuries of decline, the complex was restored in 1936.
The monastery maintains literary traditions through programs like 'Under the Linden Tree of Tresije' and 'Days of Milovan Vidakovic' with art colonies. These events connect spiritual life with artistic activity and cultural exchange.
