Borzya is a railway town in Zabaykalsky Krai that spreads along the Borzya River at an elevation of 690 meters (2,264 feet). The center lies roughly 350 kilometers (217 miles) southeast of Chita, positioned close to the Mongolian border.
The settlement began in 1899 as a railway station during construction of the Trans-Siberian Railway. It became an official city in 1950, having previously been called Suvorovsky.
