Church of the Savior on Blood, Eastern Orthodox church building near Griboyedov Canal, Saint Petersburg, Russia

The church features five onion domes decorated with jeweler's enamel and stands 81 meters tall on the Griboyedov Canal embankment in Saint Petersburg.

Emperor Alexander II was assassinated at this location in 1881, leading his son Alexander III to commission this memorial church's construction, completed in 1907.

The interior walls contain 7,500 square meters of intricate mosaics created by notable Russian artists, making it one of Europe's largest mosaic collections.

Visitors can access the church museum daily with audio guides available in multiple languages, while mobility assistance is provided at the entrances.

The church structure incorporates Italian limestone, jasper, mountain crystal, and topaz, with twenty granite plates outside detailing Alexander II's reign events.
