Blagodat

Blagodat is a rocky highland with steep slopes and ridges running through the southern taiga region. Multiple valleys cut across the terrain, and the Salda River flows along its base, while historic mining facilities are scattered across the landscape.

In 1735, hunter Stepan Chumpin discovered iron ore deposits on the mountain, triggering the start of mining operations in the area. This find led to the founding of the nearby town of Kushva and shaped the region's industrial development.

Visitors can access the mountain through established trails that connect various areas of the site. Weather can be harsh in this region, so warm clothing and proper footwear are important regardless of the season.

The mountain was painted by artist Apollinary Vasnetsov in 1891, and his work 'A Road to the Blagodat Mountain' now hangs in Moscow's Tretyakov Gallery. The painting reveals how this place captured the imagination of Russian artists of that era.
