Mother Patroness Monument, Monument in Cheboksary, Russia
The Mother Patroness Monument rises 46 meters above Cheboksary Bay as a metal structure portraying a woman in traditional Chuvash dress with outstretched arms. The statue stands on an ancient hill in the western part of the city and dominates the surrounding landscape.
The monument was dedicated in 2003 following a vision of the first President of Chuvashia, Nikolai Fedorov, who conceived the idea in a dream. This realization of his vision became a major symbol for the region.
The monument reflects the importance of motherhood in Chuvash culture and displays regional dress details with patterns and symbols. This artistic representation shows local traditions and values that visitors can encounter while exploring the site.
Visitors can reach the monument by climbing 99 steps to the ancient hill where the structure appears in full view. The site is located in the western part of the bay along Nizhegorodskaya Street and is accessible from various points throughout the city.
The construction used a distinctive technique where builders created a full-size concrete model and covered it with metal sheets. The concrete was then removed from inside, leaving only the metal shell that stands today.
