Pop/off/art, Contemporary art gallery at Moscow Contemporary Art Center Winzavod, Russia
Pop/off/art is an art gallery located within Winzavod, a former industrial brewery complex that has been converted into a cultural space. The gallery displays contemporary works across dedicated rooms and rotates exhibitions featuring both established and emerging artists.
This art space opened in 2004 within the former Moscow Bavaria brewery buildings that date to the late 1800s. The conversion of the industrial site into an exhibition venue preserved the original brick structures while adapting them for contemporary art.
Pop/off/art organizes regular exhibitions, lectures, and workshops that connect Russian contemporary artists with international art movements and audiences.
The site is easily reached from Kurskaya and Chkalovskaya metro stations, both within walking distance of the complex. Comfortable footwear is recommended since exploring the space involves moving between different buildings and rooms.
The gallery spans across seven separate industrial buildings rather than occupying a single unified space, creating multiple pathways for exploration. This scattered layout offers visitors an uncommon experience of discovering art while navigating the historic structures.
