Вознесенская церковь

The Ascension Church in Izbishche is a stone building with a restored bell tower and two side volumes that define the village skyline. The structure was completed in the late 18th century and remains the architectural focal point of the settlement.

Construction of this stone church took place from 1758 to 1790, replacing an earlier wooden building that had served the local community. This transition from wood to stone reflected the growth and stability of the settlement during the 18th century.

This place serves as a spiritual center where the local Orthodox community gathers for religious ceremonies and prayer. Visitors can observe how the bell tower and side chapels function as active worship spaces.

The church once housed a massive bell named Samson weighing about 6 tons whose sound carried far across the surrounding landscape. This impressive bell functioned until the 1930s and was an iconic presence in the region.
