The Ekaterinburg Museum of Fine Arts contains collections of Russian paintings, Western European art, and applied arts across two historical buildings in the city center.
Founded in 1936, the museum's collection originated from the Ural Natural History Society in the late 19th century and received contributions from major Russian institutions.
The museum houses 700 Russian icons from the 16th to 19th centuries and works by notable artists including Kandinsky, Malevich, and Goncharova.
The museum opens Tuesday through Thursday from 11:00 to 20:00 and Friday through Sunday from 11:00 to 19:00, with guided tours available upon request.
The museum displays the Kasli cast iron pavilion, a remarkable example of industrial art that represents the metalworking traditions of the Ural region.
