Mikhail Archangel Church is a stone building from the nineteenth century located in Novonikolajevskoye village, consisting of three stories with a main chapel, dining area, and separate bell tower topped by a large dome and cross. The structure features thick walls, ornate window frames, and stone columns that give it a solid, enduring appearance.
The church was built in the second half of the eighteenth century in stone, replacing an earlier wooden structure destroyed by fire. During the twentieth century it was closed and repurposed as a grain storage and workshop, until comprehensive restoration efforts began in the 1980s and returned it to active worship in the 1990s.
The church honors Archangel Michael, a protector figure in Orthodox tradition depicted in icons wearing armor and carrying a sword. The community gathers here on November 21 and 8 for special services where people light candles and pray together, maintaining traditions passed down through generations.

The interior frescoes were painted by renowned artist Platon Tyurin, a self-made peasant from the village who trained in Saint Petersburg and contributed to famous churches including Christ the Savior in Moscow and other Saint Petersburg churches. Though many of these historical paintings have been damaged over time, restoration work continues to preserve their original beauty and technique.
