Ozyornaya, Moscow Metro station
Ozyornaya is a modern metro station in the Ochakovo-Matveyevskoye district of Moscow that opened in 2018. It sits roughly 8 kilometers from the city center and has two entrance halls on either side of the street, with a relatively short and wide platform that makes boarding easy.
The station was built as part of Moscow's expansion of its metro network westward, with the initial phase opening in 2014. The line on which Ozyornaya sits was extended in stages, reaching its final section in 2018 to connect western districts more quickly to the city center.
The name Ozyornaya refers to the nearby ponds in Ochakovo. The station displays water plants and water lilies on blue and green panels covering the columns, which creates a fresh feeling in the space. Two stained-glass windows in the entrance halls show water lilies and cast shimmering patterns on the walls when sunlight passes through.
The station sits on Michurinsky Prospect near the Moscow Ring Road and is easily accessible by public transport. Visitors will find small shops and local facilities nearby, and the platform's convenient width allows for quick boarding and exit.
Two stained-glass windows in the entrance halls display water lilies and create a shimmering effect on the walls when sunlight passes through. This unexpected artistic touch gives the modern station a calm, meditative quality that travelers often overlook.
